Tokyo born Hideaki Ishi aka DJ Krush began his career in the early 1980’s after viewing the film Wild Style. A former member of the Yakuza Japanese mafia, the movie inspired young Ishi to learn the art of turntablism. In 1987 along with DJ Muro, Krush Posse was born. By late 1992 and with numerous appearances under his belt, DJ Krush gained enough recognition to become the first DJ in Japanese history. Currently he works internationally producing, DJ-ing, remixing and recording in Japans hip-hop nation.

Thoughts

DJ Krush is much like any other ordinary DJ. He does some good mixes, but its nothing revolutionary or extroidinary in my opinion. He has had a chance to work with some artists like Zao Mama though. If you are interested in these kinds of artists, then give him a listen.
