Ded Chaplin originally consisted of Minoru Niihara, Yukihiro Fujimura, Binmi* Nagai and Kouzou Suganuma, but Touru Souru eventually replaced Kouzou Suganuma on drums. They released 4 full-length albums and a "best of" compilation album during their time together.

Minoru Niihara went on to be in X.Y.Z., A, and SLY and is currently in LOUDNNES; Yukihiro Fujimura changed his name to Chachamaru and joined Girl U Need and Vienna before becoming a member of Gackt’s support band Gackt JOB and Binmi* Nagai went on to be in Gray, Gerard, W.I.N.S and TKY and is currently in the band Power Job.
