Profile

Formed in Osaka in 1997, by Rietto, Misa and Eruze, who were all ex-members of Nageki shito, and Pietoro, Da’vid shito:aL were a visual band whose style and themes were based on fairy tales. Their music was always happy sounding and bouncy and their clothing was bright and colourful. They had two vocalists; Pietoro singing the majority of the vocals in a higher voice and Misa singing the lower part of the songs.

They were featured on the compilation CD "New Age Culture" in October 1997, proceeding the release of their first demo, "sankaku no tsuki" (limited to 1000 copies), on November 15th of that year.

On March 28th 1998 the band released their second demo, "Cookie Jar", which had two presses; the first limited to 3000 copies and the second limited to 2000 copies. They followed this up with their mini-album "Hoshi no hako" later that year, on June 24th.

Da’vid shito:aL released a box set in January 1999 and this was their last release as they disbanded later that year. Pietoro went on to be in Pluer and Kuro pie, Eruze went to Pluer, JILS, Aioria and Heaven’s and Misa went onto Klein Kaiser, Kakuu no hitobito, Aioria, Rush and Babylon.

Thoughts

Da’vid shito:aL’s sound is mostly fun and lively. They have catchy music and the use of two vocalists makes them sound different from most bands with a similar sound. Overall they were a good band and it’s a shame they disbanded after releasing so little.
