Issa Hentona, Shinobu Miyara, Ken Okumoto and Yukinari Tameki make up the Japanese singing and dancing hip hop group Da Pump. Hailing from Okinawa Japan and graduates of Okinawa’s Actor School, Da Pump became Japan’s first successful boy band group marketed by Johnny’s Entertainment. In 1997 Da Pump released there first debut, Feelin Good - It’s Paradise under the indies label Avex Trax of the Avex Network and produced by Akio Togashi.In 2005 Shinobu Miyara was arrested for DUI which lead to a lengthy suspension from the group. Then on April 7, 2006 due to the pressures of being in a popular band and living up to par performance wise he announced his official departure from the group. Currently he has decided to start a solo career but has not yet made any set plans.
Today the remaining members of Da Pump continue to produce and perform musically as a trio. Often making appearances on television,
movies and in magazines throughout Japan.

Thoughts
I found Da Pump to be an okay band. I like how they have a mixture of singing and rapping in their songs. They have some very catchy songs like "Gokigendaze" too. My only complaint would be that a lot of their songs have that ‘manufactured’, generic sound to them.Click to read/add your opinion!
