Profile
D is a Japanese Visual Kei band which was formed in March 2003 and members consist of ASAGI on vocals, Ruiza and Sin on guitars, Rena on
bass and HIROKI on drums. Their first mini album titled NEW BLOOD was released on July 18 the same year. Ruiza was eventually
hospitalized after the album was released and during that period of time, Sin left D. All activities were put on hold as the band took a
break until Ruiza was fit enough to be released from hospital. On September 27, 2003, D was back again but with a new lineup. ASAGI,
Ruiza and HIROKI and Rena remained as the vocalist, guitarist, drummer and bassist of the band and they had HIDE-ZOU replacing Sin on
guitars. AliCe, their first single, was released on November 27.
D had a few release in the year 2004. On January 7, they released PARADOX which is their second mini album. The band also release Yume
Narishi Kuuchuu Teien single on May 12 and Mayutsuku no Hitsugi which was put on sale only during their concert at Shibuya O-West,
Nagoya ell. FITS ALL and Osaka MUSE. They re-released a mastered version of their debut album, NEW BLOOD ~second impact~, in December
8. The album includes Gareki no Hana, a bonus track.
The following year was quite a busy one for D as they started 2005 by releasing Mahiru no Koe ~Synchronicity~ on January 12 and they had
a collaboration live with Kisaki of Phantasmagoria. Rena recorded the bass lines for The Name of The ROSE, which was released on August
25, 2005. The released was two months after Rena decided to leave the band on July 27.
The Name of the ROSE 2006 was released on February 8, 2006. Tsunehito re-recorded the bass lines for the album after her joined on
December 5, 2005. The album had three additional tracks. D also re-released PARADOX and Yume Narishi Kuuchuu Teien. Their recent single,
Taiyou wo Okuru Hi, was released on August 3 and it is also one of the tracks in their latest album, Tafael Anatomie, which was released
on October 18.

Thoughts
It was surprising that D did not sound like most Visual Kei bands. I instantly fell in love with them when I first listened to Day
Dream, which was the first track in The Name of The ROSE 2006. The vocals are slightly above average but what I really like are the
guitars and drums. To me, both The Name of The ROSE 2005 and 2006 release was one of the best albums from them. Anyway, most of the
songs are really easy to listen to. If you are a first time listener to D, I would suggest you to try out songs like Day Dream, Sleeper
and Gareki no Hana. Tracks such as Calling Me and Taiyo wo Okuru Hi, from their latest album Tafel Anatomie, are good too. On the whole,
I think D is an awesome band and I would highly recommend to others.
