Profile
Crystal Kay debuted in 1999 with the single
Eternal Memories from Epic Records. She continued to produce more works such as
Ex-Boyfriend and
Hard to Say over the following years. In 2002, she released her third album and ranked #2 on Oricon's chart! That album sold over 40,000 copies! Since then Crystal Kay has done very well on Oricon's charts with each release. Just recently, she did a song for a j-drama which will be released as a single this May.
Thoughts
Crystal Kay reminds me of a little bit of Boa. She has a great voice that can hit some really high notes. Moreover, she has a nice collection of pop and hip-hop songs. Perhaps the biggest difference between her and Boa is the fact that Crystal Kay focuses a lot more on hip-hop. The rhythms in her songs are fun to listen to. Theyre fairly simple, yet incredibly addicting :) Below is her song
Boyfriend.
