Influenced by classical and rock music and with themes of romance, Cross Cradle formed in Tokyo, consisting of two members, Say and Akito. Whilst all other instruments on their songs are synthesised, the drums are not and this, accompanied with Say’s deep and sometimes operatic female vocals, makes them sound quite unique. In addition to being the vocalist say is in charge of all their artwork, lyrics and composition and Akito handles recording and mastering as well as being the drummer.They released their first mini-album, "Kou Do U", in September 2003 and also played lives at Shinjuku HEAD POWER in September, October, November and December.
Cross Cradle released their first single, "Sei Iki", in February 2004 and played lives in the Tokyo clubs Narciss, CLUB CITTA and The Play House. They also made their first PV, "DEAR XXX" in September 2004.
The band’s first full-length album, "Tai On" was released in April 2005 and they played a live at Akasaka MOVIE in July of that year. They also played two more lives that year at Shinjuku HEAD POWER on December 11th and at Meguro Rockmaykan, soon after that, on December 13th.
In 2006 they played lives at Okubo HOT SHOT (February 26th), Shinjuku Holiday (July 3rd) and Takdanobaba Area (August 8th).

Thoughts
Cross Cradle is an interesting band with a mixture of rock and classical music. Although some of their sound production could be better, overall it’s good and the music and lyrics definitely make up for that. Say’s vocals also make them stand out as she has a sometimes deep and powerful voice and sometimes high operatic voice. Definitely worth listening to!Click to read/add your opinion!
