Chatmonchy, formed April of 2000, is an all female Japanese trio with a rock sound. Playing together since high school, they mainly just practiced in their school’s music room.It wasn’t until 4 years later that they won a competition and began to get recognition. As an indie band they released a mini-album in June of that same year and enjoyed mild success.
But today, their popularity is steadily rising everyday. They are signed to Ki/oon Records who also releases music for bands like Supercar, L’arc, and Asian Kung-Fu Generation. They have since then played a couple of festivals and lives. They released their first album July 5, 2006 and are undoubtedly on their way to stardom.

I wasn’t too impressed with Chatmonchy. They have some good rock songs, but the vocalist is just average.Click to read/add your opinion!
