Capsule
Composer/Lyricist: Yasutaka Nakata
Vocals: Toshiko Koshijima
Started: 2001
Status: Active
Profile
The brainchild of composer/lyricist/designer/cinematographer/art director Yasutaka Nakata, and featuring charming, and talented vocalist Toshiko Koshijima, Capsules music is cute, stylish, and all 21st century modern.
Like Pizzicato Five, their most obvious influence, Capsule references bossa nova, sampler pop, house, jazz, and of course French pops.
Capsule debuted with Haikara Girl in November 2001. A string of singles and albums has followed since then, 2003s Phony Phonic and their 2004 manifesto S.F. Sound Furniture standing out among them.

My Thoughts
Capsule is another band with a interesting mix. Toshiko has a very gentle voice that reminds me a lot of Maaya Sakamoto and other seiyuus. Her voice is good, but not spectacular. What really carries this band are the background melodies done by Yasutaka. Overall, Capsule is okay but has lots of room to grow.
