Cali≠Gari is a Visual Kei rock band from Japan. The band had many members who came and left but the final line up consisted of Shuuji Isshi on vocals joined the band only in the year 2000, Ao Sakurai on guitars, Kenjirou Murai on bass and Makoto Takei on drums.

Cali≠Gari was formed in 1993 and was considered to be one of forefathers of the Eroguro genre which also includes MUCC and Merry as one of them. The band released numerous albums and singles but only to cease activities in 2003.

Thoughts

Cali≠Gari had a very interesting sound. Most of their songs had a classic rock feel with some odd psychedelic sounds thrown in. Although a bit odd at times, overall their music was pretty good. I was also pretty impressed with their vocalist too.
