Since his teen years, Cagnet has wanted to produce music. He traveled to London were during the day he worked on motorcycles. At night, he would then go to the pubs where he could listen to folk and blues music. Shortly afterwards, he applied to Boston’s Berkeley music school and learned jazz.At the age of twenty he then moved to Los Angeles and worked as a composer. His success attracted attention in Japan. He got a contract with Universal Music and released his first major work titled "Long Vacation". He did three more solo albums, however after 2001 his solo career became inactive. He does collaberations with other composers occasionally.
