Profile

Butcher ABC was formed by ex Maggoty Corpse guitarist Analtoshit and ex drummer of CSSO, Grotes-Q in 1994. Influenced by bands like Cenotaph and Colmesis, Butcher ABC strived to create raw, gore grind music. They recorded some songs at Studio DOG HOUSE in 1994 but never released them. In 1995, they recorded over 10 songs but again decided not to release them. By 1996, it was clear that each member wanted to pursue different musical activities. As a result, the band broke up.

In 2000, Analtoshit reformed the band with new members. This time, Butcher ABC wanted to create music reminiscent of old death metal mixed with gore grind and thrash metal elements. In May 2002, they released a promo demo through their own label titled OBLITERATION RECORDS. The demo proved to be successful, selling over 800 copies!
The following year, BUTCHER K. joined the band as the vocalist. With a new line up, the band began to tour in Japan and played at the Obscene Festival in Czech. They also had the chance to play with the Polish band, Dead Infection, and German band, DEAD. After touring with DEAD, BUTCHER K was fired and BUTCHER S (ex Vomit Remnants) joined the band as a vocalist and bassist.

Butcher ABC’s lineup has continued to change with their latest member, HSO from Intestine Baalism, joining the band. They are continuing to tour Japan and other countries.

Thoughts

I am not a particular fan of gore grind metal in general, so Butcher ABC’s music did not thrill me. The vocals are quite harsh, and drumming is very intense. Unlike some bands though, their songs do maintain some melody. The fact that they are constantly changing members is a bit concerning to me though.
