Profile

Ed Herten started bôa in 1993 by recruiting Paul Turrel, Alex Caird, and Steve Rodgers. They convinced Jasmine Rodgers just 16 years old to join them in their band. They started off as a funk band but later moved on to have more of a rocky feel to their music. Ed Herten left the band in 1994 and was replaced by Lee Sullivan. In 1995 they finally started to be a full time band with even a mini tour of southern England, the tour ended with two performances at the Glastonbury Festival. Polystar Records gave bôa their first deal and they then started recording with them. Paul Turrel left bôa in 2001 and wasnft replaced. They are most famous for having their song Duvet in the anime Serial Experiment LAIN.

My Thoughts

I am not much of a fan of bôa. Jasmine has a very powerful and commanding voice, but the music that she sings to doesn’t compliment it. She is really more suited for rock or fast paced pop music. It is a bit of a shame, but the band has managed to release a few good songs live "Duvet".
