BoA is a Korean and Japanese pop singer. She was first discovered by SM, thanks to some help from her older brother. At the time she was only 11 and after much persuasion, her parents allowed her to pursue her dream. Immediately SM had BoA study both Japanese and English. They wanted her work to be successful all throughout Asia. As she got older, she also received dance lessons from Sakuma (who has a title as Japans best dancer). BoA released her first Japanese single, ID; Peace B, May 2001. She was an immediate success. Since her debut she has released quite a few singles and albums. She also has her own magazine, and has done outro songs for Inuyasha and Pokemon the Movie.

My Thoughts

Don’t shun BoA just because she was trained to be a singer. Give her a try! I am usually not into singers that have been shall we say ‘manufactured’, but BoA is an exception. BoA has an amazing voice with great range. It also seems like her songs are getting better too. The songs from her latest albums Love and Honesty and Valenti have some great beats that make you wanna dance along. I especially liked her songs Be the One, Valenti, and Shine we are. She also has some good ballad songs like Umi no Aurora and Waiting.
