Black Metal

Definition: Black metal first started to emerge in the late 1980s. It quickly became characterized for its distorted guitars, high pitched shrieking vocals, and unconventional song structures. Many music fans have come to dislike black metal because of negative band attitudes towards the Judeo and Christian religions. Themes for black metal include Satanism, Paganism, opposition to Christianity, folklore, and suicide.
