Formed in 2004 in Tokyo, synthpop band Aural Vampire, consisting of the vampire Exo-Chika and masked man Raveman, combine "sexual feelings with a rhythm box, industrial noise and emotional melodies". They started out in different musical project but eventually came together to form Aural Vampire. The band have since have played lives with bands such as BLOOD, Seirenes and The Candy Spooky Theater and at gothic and club events such as Tokyo Dark Castle and Tokyo Decadence.

They were featured on the various artists CDs "Techno 4 Pop Vol. 2", "Kaiki Drop", "Moe Techno Pop", "Chou Shigeki Entertainment" and "Momotorisu" and, in 2004, they released their 13-track album "Vampire Ecstasy".

Thoughts

Aural Vampire’s fast beats and catchy melodies make them fun to listen to. Exo-Chika’s voice sounds quite innocent and some interesting vocal effects are used. This contrasts well with the lyrics, which have a darker tone. This band is definitely worth listening to.
