Profile

Area51 first formed when guitarist, Yoichiro and Kensuke (bass) began to create music together. For two years, they auditioned different singers until they found Kate. Two more members joined the band soon after, and they began to work on their their first album. Their debut album, Ankh, was released 2005 with moderate success, mostly due to bad publicity. In 2007, Area51 rereleased the album worldwide via iTunes.

My Thoughts

I’m actually quite impressed with this band. Their music is very good! It doesn’t have that generic metal feel. Instead its really unique and has some symphonic sounds to it. The girl vocalist could be a little stronger, but overall does a good job. Definitely check this band out!
