Profile

Angela is a two member group that was formed in 1999. In a somewhat ironic twist of fate, both atsuko and katsu did not know each other even though they grew up in the same town. They first met at a music school in Tokyo. Like most bands, they started out playing at clubs. In 2002 though, Angela scored a deal with King Records. Angela got its first big break when they produced the opening song for an anime called Stellvia. Afterwards, they scored again by doing more songs for Sokyuu no Fafnir and Sora no Koe. In 2004, Angela also played at the Otakon Convention in Maryland.

My Thoughts

I first encountered Angela through the songs that they did for Stellvia. Atsuko has a great voice with a very unique sound to it. I love how she puts a lot of emotion into the songs she sings. In addition, the music that Katsu arranges is awesome. Each song has its own theme that just pulls you in and makes your imagination go crazy. The music for the animes is spectacular and fits each show perfectly. It is hard to put into words just how unique this group is. Listen to the music sample and you will get the idea ;)
