Profile

Synth-pop/EBM band And One were formed in Berlin in 1989 by Chris Ruiz and Steve Naghavi. The band has had various line-up changes, including a period in which Chris Ruiz left the band, but the current members are Gio Van Oli, Chris Ruiz and Steve Naghavi. The band were signed to Machinery Records and released their first single "Metalhammer" in 1990.

And One opened for bands such as A Split Second, Consolidated, Pankow and Die Form and became popular in their own right in Germany. After the release of their first album, "Anguish" in 1991, the band received Germany’s best new artist award and their growing number of fans was reflected by their album being number one in the German EBM charts. The anti-war song "Aus Der Traum" was also released in 1991 and the band gave some of the profits from it to Greenpeace. More generosity was to follow in 1992, with a portion of the profits from each copy of "Life Isn’t Easy in Germany" given to charity.

The band then parted company with Machinery Records and signed with Virgin Records. Their first release through Virgin was the single "Sometimes" in 1996.

Now signed to Metropolis Records, And One released their most recent album, "Bodypop", and the EP "Frontfeuer" in 2006.
