Profile

Known as a vocalist, composer, and lyricist, Akino grew up with the intention of originally being a painter. She would dabble with music on the side, but never thought it would get her anywhere. One day a friend of Akino promised her that if he became a music producer that he would try to sign her on. He was good on his promise.

After graduating school, Akino recieved a call from Victor Entertainment and was signed on as a music artist. She worked with the label for a while, but later left due to personal differences.

Akino began to do music for commercials and TV shows. She also composed music for animes such as "Please Save My Earth", and enjoyed the creative freedom she was given with the tunes.

Akino focuses most of her time now composing for animes. She is most well known for the tune "Voices" from Macross Plus.

Thoughts

Akino Arai is a great composer. Her songs are often whimsical, yet soft, and have a special quality that allows you to dream of other worlds. She has contributed quite a bit, especially to various animes. I am sure everyone reading this has heard of at least one Akino song even if they didn’t realize it at the time. She is awesome.
