This five member "punk rock" band was formed in 2001, but it was not always five. At first, it was only three members: Okahira Kenji (once a part of the group 19), Chiba Takatoshi and Tamakoshi Masahiro. They released their first album a year later under that name and their popularity increased.

Their name has a strange story to it. At that time, their name was only " 3B Lab* " because there were three members and each member had B blood (the " * " represents a star which will brighten the future). Two members came later on because it was said that they needed some help playing at their lives. This, of course, wouldn’t make sense if their name was still " 3B Lab* " with five members, so they added the "s" at the end, thus 3b Lab*s.

Since then, they have released seven singles, 4 albums, and 2 dvds.

If you like bands like Orange Range or High and Mighty Color, then I think you will also enjoy this band. 3B Lab*s incorporates a lot rap into rock songs. They have some fantastic songs like "Fantasia" that are really unique and fuse the two genres together nicely. Definitely check this band out!
