Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. is a psychadelic band that was formed in 1996 by Kawabata Makoto. There are many battle formations (Acid Mothers Temple & the Cosmic Inferno, Acid Mothers Afrirampo, Acid Mothers Temple & The Pink Ladies Blues, and Acid Mothers Temple SWR (Which features critically acclaimed drummer, Yoshida Tatsuya)), but the main band is AMT & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. They've been released by Kawabata Makoto's Acid Mothers label and have frequently toured and released albums in the US. Their albums have gotten very good reviews from Pitchfork Media and are known to perform very well live. After being on hiatus for a year and a half, AMT & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. released a new album, Have You Seen The Other Side of the Sky?.

Thoughts

AMT is a wonderful band. Kawabata Makoto and Higashi Hiroshi do a beautiful job on the guitars, which gives the music a very spacey and ambient feel which really contributes to the psychadelic form. Adding a synth is beautiful. It gives the music an even more psychadelic feel. The other battle formations of AMT are a lot more experimental, but this is one of the best noise rock bands out there. Check them out.
