ACIDMAN is a Japanese rock band which consist of Oki Nobuo on vocals, Urayama Ichigo on drums and Sato Masatoshi on bass and as well as
being the band's composer who always experiment with various types of sounds.
The band originally had four members with Shiibashi Takeshi on vocals and ACIDMAN was formed in 1997. A year later, they created two
demo tapes but in 1999, Shiibashi Takeshi left and Oki eventually became the band's vocalist and band leader. Their debut single,
Sekitou, was under Nomadic Records and it ranked #3 on the indie charts. The band released a mini-album titled, Sankazora, which debut
at #29 on the Oricon Indies chart in the year 2002. They released a few more singles under Toshiba-EMI and their first album, Soo, was
ranked at #9 on the Oricon charts.
In 2003, ACIDMAN won the Best Newcomers award at the Japan Gold Disc Awards.

ACIDMAN is a very good band! Oki Nubuo has an excellent voice that is suited perfectly for their genre. Their music is quite good too. I definitely recommend this band!
